Season: March-November
Day I: TBILISI
Arrival in Tbilisi International Airport; Transfer to the hotel and accommodation
Day II: TBILISI
Breakfast in hotel. City tour. The city offers a great variety of sights, most of them very ancient. We start our visit from Tbilisi’s unique Old Town from Metekhi church (XIIIc.) and then we head for Narikala Fortress (IV.c.) – one of the oldest fortifications in the city,we continue to the Anchiskhati church (VIc.),Sioni Church (VI-VIIc.c.) andtherecently built Sameba Cathedral. After lunchwe visit the treasuries of the Georgian National Museum (seeing the Gold Fund of Georgia). Our trip comes to the end with a sightseeing walk around Old Tbilisi where the tourists can visit and (in case of their desire) take the enjoyable Sulfur Bath in one of the ancient baths situated in the very centre of Historical Tbilisi. Return to the hotel. Dinner and overnight.
Day III: TBILISI – KAZBEGI - GUDAURI
Breakfast in the hotel, meeting with guide and departure to Kazbegi. From Kazbegi (a leisurely) 1.5 hour walk up through beautiful valleys and woodland leads us to Gergeti Trinity Church (XIV c.) located at 2170m. You can enjoy the picturesque panorama which opens from Mt. Kazbegi with its permanent snow cap. Return to Kazbegi, lunch and departure to Gudauri - ski resort; dinner and overnight in Gudauri.
Day IV: GUDAURI - ANANURI - UPLISTSIKHE - BAKURIANI
Breakfast in the hotel and departure to Gori. On the road visit Ananuri Fortress; afterwards – Samtavisi Church. Arrival in Gori and drive to Uplistsikhe Cave Town (VI b. C.). During the trip picnic or lunch packets will be proposed; departure to Bakuriani. Dinner in the hotel and overnight.
Day V: BAKURIANI - BORJOMI - VARDZIA - BAKURIANI
Breakfast in the hotel; departure to Akhaltsikhe; on the road we stop in Borjomi - famous locality for its mineral waters; then we drive to Sapara monastery (XIII – XIVc.c.) . Return to Akhaltsikhe, after lunch visit Vardzia Cave Town (XII – XIII c.c.) - one of the highlights of Georgia with its cave churches and its frescoes. Return to Bakuriani, dinner and overnight.
Day VI: BAKURIANI- KUTAISI - VANI - KUTAISI
Breakfast in the hotel and departure to Imereti province an area of cool springs, green fields and beautiful gardens. We arrive in Kutaisi and visit its UNESCO World Heritage site - the splendid Bagrati Templeruins (10 th-11 th c.c.). Accommodation in hotel, lunch and departure to Vani - town of Antiquity (6 th B.C - 1 st A.C.); visit Vani Museum and ruins of Antique city. Return to Kutaisi; in the evening City sightseeing; dinner and overnight.
Day VII: KUTAISI - TBILISI
Breakfast in the hotel and visit Motsameta Church; afterwards another site of UNESCO World Heritage: Gelati Monastery and Academy Complex (12 th c.). Lunch in Kutaisi and l eaving for Tbilisi; dinner and overnight.
Day VIII: TBILISI – MTSKHETA - TBILISI
Breakfast in the hotel; an excursion in the “Kus Tba” (Tortoise Lake) to visit the Open-air Museum ; afterwards drive to ancient capital and religious centre of Georgia – Mtskheta, visit its historic Jvari Monastery (VI-VII) and Svetitskhoveli Cathedral (XI) - one of the sacred places of Georgia where is the robe of Jesus Christ buried – both UNESCO World heritage sites. Lunch and return to Tbilisi. Leisure time. In the evening farewell banquet in Georgian restaurant in Old Tbilisi. The tourists can admire the night city. Overnight.
Day IX: – TBILISI
Transfer to airport and departure.
In case of force major circumstances the agency reserves the right to make some necessary changes.
