11 DAYS / 10 NIGHTS

Season: March - November

Day I: BAKU
Arrival in Baku Airport; Transfer to hotel; accommodation.

Day II: BAKU city Tour
Baku city tour. Excursion to the old city “Icheri sheher” after breakfast. Visiting of the complex of “Shirvanshahs Palace” (the residence of Shirvanshahs in XV century, one of the largest monuments of Azeri architecture, included into the list of monuments of the world legacy maintained by UNESCO), “Maiden Tower” (one of the defensive constructions of VII-XII centuries, the symbol of Baku, it had become a museum in 1964 and has been included into the list of UNESCO world legacy since 2000). Visiting of Azerbaijan State Museum of Art. After lunch visiting of Azerbaijan Carpet and national-applied Art Museum, then – visiting of Martyrs` Avenue situated in the highest place of city from there is a wonderful view of city. Then we walk in the Seaside Boulevard. Visiting of Azerbaijan Historical Museum and walking in the Fountain Square. Meals of national cuisine at the restaurant in the evening. Overnight.

Day III: BAKU - GOBUSTAN - SURAKHANE - BAKU
After breakfast - journey to the stone century (“Gobustan” historic-architectural reserve) and visiting of Mud Volcanoes. After lunch excursion to the Temple of fire-worshippers “Ateshgah” (XVII century) in Surakhani, Fortress of XIII century (the height of the tower is 15 meters and it has 4 floors), the Mount with eternal fire. Farewell banquet in Azerbaijan restaurant with national show-program. Overnight.

Day IV: SHEKI- CARAVANSERAI
After breakfast – driving to Sheki, north-western part of Azerbaijan. Visiting of Caravanseray (Sheki khans Palace, XVIII century). Caravanseray is a rare combination example of national architectonics. Leisure. Meals of cuisine of Sheki region. Overnight.

Day V: SHEKI - BODBE - DAVID - GAREJA-TBILISI
Breakfast in hotel and departure to the Azerbaijan-Georgian border. From the border we drive to the wine-growing region of Kakheti, visiting Bodbe Monastery – the tomb of St. Nino; afterwards lunch in Sighnaghi and visit David-GarejaMonastery – cave complex located in a stark, semi-desert landscape (Lavra and Udabno monasteries); leaving for Tbilisi; return to hotel, dinner and overnight.

Day VI: TBILISI
Breakfast in hotel; City sightseeing tour. The city offers a great variety of sights, most of them very ancient. We start our visit from Tbilisi’s unique Old Town from Metekhi church (XIIIc.), then we head for Narikala Fortress (IV.c.) – one of the oldest fortifications in the city,we continue to the Anchiskhati church (VI c.) and Sioni Cathedral (VI-VIIc.c.). After lunchwe visit the treasuries of the Georgian State Museum (seeing the Gold Fund of Georgia). Our trip comes to the end with sightseeing walk around Old Tbilisi. Return to the hotel. Dinner/overnight.

Day VII: TBILISI – UPLISTSIKHE – MTSKHETA - TBILISI
Breakfast in hotel, meeting with guide and drive to the town of Gori; visit Uplistsikhe Cave town (VI B.C); afterwards - Ananuri Fortress; departure to Mtskheta - ancient capital and religious centre of Georgia; arrival and visit its historic Jvari Monastery (VI-VII); lunch; after lunch - Svetitskhoveli Cathedral (XI) - one of the sacred places of Georgia where is the robe of Jesus Christ buried – both UNESCO World heritage sites. Return to Tbilisi; on the evening farewell banquet in Georgian restaurant in Old Tbilisi. The tourists can enjoy the views of Tbilisi by night. Overnight.

Day VIII: TBILISI – HAGARTSIN – SEVANAVANK - YEREVAN
Breakfast in hotel and departure to Yerevan; on the way visit Hagartsin Medieval Monastery; afterwards Goshavank and Sevanavank Monasteries; arrival in Yerevan, dinner and overnight.

Day IX: YEREVAN - EREBUNI - GARNI - GEGHARD - YEREVAN
Breakfast in hotel; Yerevan sightseeing tour includes a visit to the State Museum of History of Armenia and the St. Gregory the Illuminator Cathedral; we continue to the Old Town Erebuni ( 782 b. C .) afterwards Commemorative Monument of Genocide; after lunch we head to Garni, a pagan temple and a summer residence for Armenian royalty. From Garni a short drive will bring us to Geghard Cave Monastery. In the evening we return to Yerevan. Dinner / overnight.

Day X: YEREVAN - ECHMIADZIN - KHOR - VIRAP - YEREVAN
Breakfast in hotel. In the morning we drive to Echmiadzin - the religious centre of Armenia. After visiting the main cathedral there we continue to St.Hripsime and Gayane Churches; lunch, after lunch visit Zvartnots Temple founded by Catholicos Nerses III (641-662); Then we drive to visit spectacular Khor Virap Monastery with the biblical Mt Ararat in the background. In the evening return to Yerevan, farewell banquet in Armenian restaurant; overnight.

Day XI – YEREVAN Transfer to airport and departure.



During this journey you will visit a great number of historical sites as well as Natural beauties of Caucasus, in particular:
* 12 Churches: including UNESCO World Heritage
* 10 Monasteries with particular frescoes
* Uplistsikhe Cave Town in Georgia
* Sheki Caravanserai
