Georgia - Land of Golden Fleece

Season: April-October
Day I: TBILISI
Arrival in Tbilisi. Transfer to the hotel, accommodation and overnight.
Day II: TBILISI
Breakfast in hotel. City tour. The city offers a great variety of sights, most of them very ancient. We start our visit from Tbilisi’s unique Old Town from Metekhi church (XIIIc.) and then we head for Narikala Fortress (IV.c.) – one of the oldest fortifications in the city,we continue to the Anchiskhati church (VIc.),Sioni Church (VI-VIIc.c.) andtherecently built Sameba Cathedral. After lunchwe visit the treasuries of the Georgian National Museum (seeing the Gold Fund of Georgia). Our trip comes to the end with a sightseeing walk around Old Tbilisi where the tourists can visit and (in case of their desire) take the enjoyable Sulfur Bath in one of the ancient baths situated in the very centre of Historical Tbilisi. Return to the hotel. Dinner and overnight.
Day III: TBILISI –KUTAISI
Breakfast in the hotel and departure to Imereti province an area of cool springs, green fields and beautiful gardens. We arrive in Kutaisi and visit its historical site – UNESCO World Heritage: Gelati Monastery and AcademyComplex (12 thc.), afterwards - Motsameta Church; return to Kutaisi; lunch and visit another site of UNESCO World Heritage - the splendid Bagrati Temple ruins (10 th-11 th c.c.); in the evening City sightseeing. Dinner and overnight in Kutaisi.
Day IV: KUTAISI - VANI - NOKALAKEVI - ZUGDIDI - KUTAISI
Breakfast in the hotel and departure to – Vani - town of Antiquity (6 th-1 st B.C.); visit Vani Museum and ruins of Antique city. Afterwards we continue with one day trip by visiting two most important monuments of western Georgia: 1.architectural monuments of the kingdom of Egrisi, the capital of west Georgia – Tsikhegoji- Arkeopolisi-Nokalakevi (IV–VIII c.c.); 2. Beautiful architectural complex-Dadiani Palace - located inside of the botanical garden (decorated with rare flowers)-where you can see the richest historical - ethnographical collection: pictures of Georgian, Russian and French painters, the oldest Georgian icons; bronze death mask of Napoleon Bonaparte, his portrait, bookcase, writing-table and two armchairs from Imperators study; Marshall Murat’s private things etc. Dinner and overnight in
Kutaisi.
Day V: KUTAISI – UPLISTSIKHE - TBILSI
Breakfast in the hotel and Departure to Tbilisi; on the road we will visit Ubisa Church; afterwards - the town of Gori and Uplistsikhe Cave Town (VI B.C): - one of the main points along the Great Silk Road. During the excursion snack or lunch packets will be proposed. Return to Tbilisi; dinner and
overnight.
Day VI: TBILISI - MTSKHETA - TBILISI
Breakfast in the hotel and drive to ancient capital and religious centre of Georgia - Mtskheta, visit its historic Jvari Monastery (VI-VIIc.c.) and Svetitskhoveli Cathedral (XIc.) –one of the sacred places of Georgia where is buried the robe of Jesus Christ -both are UNESCO World heritage sites. Lunch and return to Tbilisi. A n excursion in the “Kus Tba” ( Tortoise Lake) where we visit the Open-air Museum. Leisure time; in the evening farewell banquet in Georgian restaurant in Old Tbilisi. The tourists can take a walk and admire the night city. Overnight.
Day VII: – TBILISI
Transfer to the airport and departure.
In case of force major circumstances the agency reserves the right to make some necessary changes.
