Discovery Tour Around Georgia
11 days / 10 nights

Season: March-November

Day I: TBILISI
Arrival in Tbilisi and transfer to hotel; accommodation and overnight.

Day II: TBILISI
Breakfast in hotel. City tour. The city offers a great variety of sights, most of them very ancient. We start our visit from Tbilisi’s unique Old Town from Metekhi church (XIIIc.) and then we head for Narikala Fortress (IV.c.) – one of the oldest fortifications in the city,we continue to the Anchiskhati church (VIc.),Sioni Church (VI-VIIc.c.) andthe recently built Sameba Cathedral. After lunchwe visit the treasuries of the Georgian National Museum (seeing the Gold Fund of Georgia). Our trip comes to the end with a sightseeing walk around Old Tbilisi where the tourists can visit and (in case of their desire) take the enjoyable Sulfur Bath in one of the ancient baths situated in the very centre of Historical Tbilisi. Return to the hotel. Dinner and overnight.

Day III: TBILISI –DAVID-GAREJA-TELAVI
Breakfast in hotel and driv e to the wine-growing region of Kakheti, visiting David-GarejaMonastery – cave complex located in a stark, semi-desert landscape (Lavra and Udabno monasteries). Lunch in Sighnaghi; afterwards visit Bodbe Monastery – the tomb of St. Nino. Leavingfor Telavi; arrival and city sightseeing (if time is left the tourists can visit wine factory and see the Georgian wine production technology). Accommodation, dinner and overnight.

Day IV: TELAVI - TBILISI
Breakfast in hotel. We start our excursion from visit Erekle II Museum , Alaverdi Monastery (XIc.) and Ikalto Academy (XI-XII c.c.). We continue toTsinandali - visit beautiful Tsinandali garden and the house of the 19th century Georgian nobleman Al. Chavchavadze as well as the old wine-factory to taste more Kakhetian wine. Return to Tbilisi, dinner and overnight.

Day V: TBILISI - KAZBEGI - GUDAURI
Breakfast in hotel and departure to Kazbegi. Arrival in Kazbegi- the main town in the region- a leisurely 1.5 hour walk up through beautiful valleys and woodland leads us to Gergeti Trinity Church (XIV c. ) – located at 2170 m., you can enjoy the picturesque panorama which opens from Mt. Kazbegi with its permanent snow cap. Return to Kazbegi, lunch and leaving for Gudauri ski resort. Dinner and overnight.

Day VI: GUDAURI - KUTAISI
Breakfast in hotel and departure to Imereti province -an area of cool springs, green fields and beautiful gardens. We arrive in Kutaisi. Accommodation in hotel, lunch and visit Motsameta Church; afterwards- UNESCO World Heritage sites - Gelati Monastery and Academy Complex (12 th c.c.) andthe splendid Bagrati Templeruins (10 th-11 th c.c.). In the evening city sightseeing program. Return to hotel, dinner and overnight.

Day VII: KUTAISI–VANI–NOKALAKEVI-ZUGDIDI-KUTAISI
Breakfast in hotel and departure to - Vani- town of Antiquity (6 th B.C -1 st A.C.). Arrival and visit Vani Museum and ruins of Antique city. We continue with one day trip for visit two most important monuments of western Goergia: 1. architectural monuments of the kingdom of Egrisi, the capital of west Georgia – Tsikhegoji - Arkeopolisi-Nokalakevi (IV–VIII c.c.); 2. Beautiful architectural complex-Dadiani Palace – (located inside of botanical garden decorated with rare flowers)- with its richest historical-ethnographical collection: pictures of Georgian, Russian and French painters, the oldest Georgian icons; bronze death mask of Napoleon Bonaparte, his portrait, bookcase, writing-table and two armchairs from Imperators study; Marshall Murat’s private things etc. Return to Kutaisi. Dinner and overnight.

Day VIII: KUTAISI - VARDZIA - BAKURIANI
Breakfast in hotel and departure to Samtskhe-Javakheti region. Arrival in Akhaltsikhe and drive to visit Vardzia Cave Town (XII – XIII c.c. ) - one of the highlights of Georgia with its cave churches and its frescoes. After lunch leaving for Bakuriani. Dinner and overnight.

Day IX: BAKURIANI - UPLISTSIKHE - TBILISI
Breakfast in hotel and departure to Tbilisi. On the way visit town of Gori and Uplistsikhe Cave Town (VI B.C): - one of the main points along the Great Silk Road. During the excursion picnic will be proposed. Return to Tbilisi, dinner and overnight.

Day X: TBILISI - MTSKHETA - TBILISI
Breakfast in hotel. Meeting with guide and excursion in the “Kus Tba” ( Tortoise Lake) to visit the Open-air Museum . A fterwards drive to ancient capital and religious centre of Georgia – Mtskheta, visit its historic Jvari Monastery (VI-VII) and Svetitskhoveli Cathedral (XI) - one of the sacred places of Georgia where is the robe of Jesus Christ buried – both UNESCO World heritage sites. After lunch return to Tbilisi. Leisure time. In the evening farewell banquet in Georgian restaurant in Old Tbilisi. The tourists can enjoy the views of night Tbilisi.

Day XI: Transfer to airport and departure. End of tour.
